I came upon the idea for MONC in my own daily struggles. In my early years, I grew up mesmerized by bounded books—items I considered to hold the truth of whatever I was looking for. Believing it was true just because it was written was actually possible back then, but now is a constant struggle with the flood of information in our lives. In the medical profession, we call it a practice because we are always trying to do the right thing, while humbly relying on whatever information and data is available. Seeking and sharing the truth as well as the context of its understanding is fundamental to our success.
